Zahter / Privacy notice
Privacy notice
How Crocus Food Limited, trading as Zahter, looks after the personal information you share with us. This notice took effect on 1 January 2022.
Who we are
Zahter is run by Crocus Food Limited (company number 12781978), 30–32 Foubert's Place, Carnaby, London W1F 7PS. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under number ZB652666. If you have any questions about this notice or how we use your information, email info@zahter.co.uk or call 07775 156 768.
What this notice covers
It covers personal information we collect through this website and when you deal with us: booking a table, enquiring about private dining, buying a gift card, signing up to our newsletter, joining our Wi-Fi, applying for a job, or simply getting in touch. The website is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect information about them.
The information we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, this can include your name and contact details (email, phone, address); booking and purchase details; payment details, which are handled by our payment and booking providers and not stored by us; your marketing preferences; technical information about the device and browser you use; and, if you apply to work with us, the information in your CV. We do not collect special category data (such as health or religious information) or information about criminal convictions.
How we collect it
Mostly you give it to us directly, for example when you book, enquire, buy a gift card or sign up to hear from us. Our booking partner SevenRooms collects reservation details on our behalf. Some technical information is collected automatically as you use the website; see our cookie notice.
How we use it, and why we are allowed to
We use your information to take and manage bookings and private dining enquiries, to process gift card orders, to run the website and keep it secure, to reply when you contact us, to send you news and offers you have asked for, and to meet our legal obligations. We rely on one of four legal bases each time: carrying out a contract with you (such as a booking or purchase), our legitimate interests in running the restaurant well, a legal obligation, or your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Marketing
We will only send you news and offers if you have asked for them, or if you have booked or bought from us and have not opted out. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, or you can email us and we will take you off the list. We never share your details with other companies for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
We share information only where we need to: with the companies that help us run the restaurant and website (booking, payment, email and IT providers), with our professional advisers, with the authorities where the law requires it, and with a buyer if the business were ever sold. Some of these providers are based outside the UK; where that is the case we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place.
How long we keep it
Only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Anonymised information that no longer identifies you may be kept for longer.
Keeping it safe
We use appropriate security measures to protect your information, limit access to the people who need it, and have procedures in place to deal with any suspected breach.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict or stop using it, ask for it in a portable format, object to our use of it, and withdraw any consent you have given. There is normally no charge, and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk, though we would always rather hear from you first.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
